Brent Wagener, an Ohio native with a down-to-earth Midwestern charm, is a seasoned wine expert with a deep knowledge of the subject. Despite his sophistication, he approaches wine with enthusiasm and fun, making the experience enjoyable for all.

Brent's journey into the world of wine began with the Heidelberg Distributing Co., where he worked in sales for 35 years, eventually becoming the vice president of wine for Heidelberg Vineyards, the company's Bordeaux importer. Throughout his career, he has been involved with various wine-related ventures, including Wine Trends, and serving as the Robert Mondavi Distributor Council representative.

Despite his extensive travels through wine-making regions worldwide, Brent has always called Ohio his home. He has a special fondness for wines from Bordeaux and has forged friendships with notable figures like German winemaker Erni Loosen and legendary winemaker Robert Mondavi, who he considers one of his mentors.

Outside of his wine-related pursuits, Brent has actively engaged in community work in both northwest and southwest Ohio, contributing to various charitable organizations.

While retired from Heidelberg, Brent's passion for wine remains undiminished. Through his venture, "Wines with Wagener," he continues to share his knowledge with private clients, restaurants, and the public. From tastings and education to cellar management and wine-related travel assistance, Brent's goal is to help everyone better understand and appreciate wine, regardless of their experience level.
